announced the award winners for the year.

DCC vs Southeastern CC @ Whiteville, NC
The Knights traveled to Whiteville, NC needing one or two wins to securing a
spot in the NJCAA regionals in Morehead City, NC on May 10 - 14.
Game 1: DCC lost 11-1. Morgan Williams (4-5) losing pitcher. The Knights only
managed 4 singles from Brandon Mitchell, Jonathan Aparicio, Conner Adams, Tyler
Hudgins.
Game 2: DCC lost 6-5. Daniel Elliott (7-5) losing pitcher. The Knights could
not hang on to a 5-0 lead and lost in the bottom of the 7th. Jake Coleman,
Brandon Mitchell, Jonathan Aparicio all had 2 singles. Several opportunities to
score but could not get the hit at the right time.
Game 3: DCC lost 5-1. Tim Perry (3-1) losing pitcher. Jake Coleman had 2
singles, rbi; Tyler Casselbury had double.A critical fielding error in the
bottom of the 5th with 2 outs pretty much ended the Knights season. The Knights
hit into 4 double plays, again opportunities missed.
The Knights end their season with a 26-25 overall record and 12-17 in Region
X.

NJCAA DII Region X has announced its 1st team all region team and 2 players
from DCC are on that team.

Brandon Mitchell and Jake Coleman have signed National Letters of Intent to
play baseball and further their education at NC A&T a NCAA DI school located in
Greensboro, NC, both received athletic scholarships.

DCC vs College of Albemarle (Elizabeth City, NC) @ Dan
Daniel Park
DCC hosted COA in a Region X conference series.
Game 1: DCC lost 7-6 and gave COA their early
Christmas gift. Daniel Elliott (7-4) losing pitcher with 7 K's but the offense
let him down by not hitting in key situations. Jake Coleman had triple, single;
Dylan Sligh had 2 singles, rbi; Austin Winkles had 2 singles; Jonathan Aparicio
had triple, single; Brandon Mitchell added double.
Game 2: DCC won 7-6. Tim Perry (3-0) winning pitcher in
relief. Dylan Sligh had the game winning rbi's with a 2 run double in the bottom
of the 6th. Brandon Mitchell had 2 doubles, single, rbi; Dylan Sligh had double,
single, 2 rbi's; Jake Coleman added a double.
Game 3: Sunday's game was rained out.
The Knights now 26-22 overall and 12-14 in Region X
conference with one weekend left are hanging on by .033 winning % over
Surry CC for a trip to the regionals second week of May in Morehead City, NC.
The Knights finish the regular season next weekend in
Whiteville, NC against the RAMS of Southeastern CC and if they can match
whatever Surry CC does next weekend against Patrick Henry CC will then earn them
the first ever trip to the regionals since joining NJCAA in 2011.

DCC vs Wilkes CC
DCC won both games on Sunday 9-1 & 5-3 after getting
rained out on Saturday.
Game 1: DCC won 9-1. Daniel Elliott (7-3) winning
pitcher throwing a 6 hitter. The Knights banged out 13 hits. TYler Hudgins had 2
singles, 3 rbi's; Tyler Casselbury had 2 singles, rbi; Dylan Sligh had had 3
singles; Brandon Mitchell had 2 doubles, rbi; Jake Coleman had 2 singles; Austin
Winkles had double, rbi; Johanthan Aparicio added double.
Game 2: DCC won 5-3. Tim Perry (2-0) picked up the win
throwing 5 innings of 2 hit relief. Tyler Hudgins had 2 singles, rbi; Jonathan
Aparicio added triple; Brandon Mitchell had the game winning single, rbi.
The Knights are 24-21 overall and 11-13 in Region X
Conference, The Knights will take on Central Va. CC at Dan Daniel Park on
Wednesday at 3:00 the game was originally scheduled to be played in Lynchburg.

The Knights drop a 3 games series to the Lancers of Lenoir.
Game 1: DCC lost 9-6. Morgan Williams (4-4) losing pitcher. The Knights
got 18 hits and left 20 runners on base and hit into 3 double plays. Jake
Coleman had 3 singles; Brandon Mitchell had double, 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Dylan Sligh
had double, single, rbi; Austin Winkles and Jonathan Aparicio each had 2
singles; Conner Adams had 2 singles, rbi.
Game 2: DCC lost 4-3. Conner Adams (0-2) losing pitcher. The Knights
again stranded 6 runners in scoring position and got 10 hits. Dylan Sligh had 2
doubles; Jonathan Aparicio had 2 singles, rbi; Brandon Mitchell and Jake Coleman
each had 2 singles; Conner Adams added a double.
Game 3: DCC lost 15-3. Daniel Elliott (6-3) losing pitcher. DCC only
managed 5 hits, Jonathan Aparicio had double; Conner Adams had double, rbi;
Dylan Sligh had single, 2 rbi's.
The Knights now 21-21 overall and 9-13 in Region X conference next
travel to Hampton, VA on Wednesday to take on the #1 ranked (USCAA) Builders of
Apprentice School at 2 pm.

DCC vs Averett University JV, DCC won 12-6.
Morgan Williams (4-3) picked up the win in relief. Jake Coleman had 3
singles; Austin Winkles added double, rbi; Dylan Sligh had single, 2 rbi's;
Conner Adams had double, rbi; Kris Williamson had 2 singles, 2 rbi's.
The Knight now 20-18 overall 9-10 NJCAA Region X conference host Lenoir
CC (Kinston, NC) in a 3 game conference series on Saturday and Sunday at Dan
Daniel Park.

DCC @ Brunswick CC - Bolivia, NC
Three game NJCAA Region X series against #13 ranked team in NJCAA DII.
Game 1: DCC lost 10-0. Jason Kelly (2-5) losing pitcher. The Knights
only managed 2 hits, singles by Conner Adams, Austin Winkles.
Game 2: DCC lost 9-1. Conner Adams (0-1) losing pitcher. The Knights
committed 4 crucial errors that took a close game away. The offense was led by
Conner Adams with 2 singles, doubles by Jonathan Aparicio and Austin Winkles.
Game 3: DCC pull the upset winning 7-6 in 12 innings. Corey Cullop
(6-2) picked up the win in relief, starter Daniel Elliott threw 8 innings of 5
hit baseball. The Knights offense came alive get 13 hits. Jonathan Aparicio had
3 singles; Tim Perry had a big 3 run homer, single, 3 rbi's; David Stuart had 2
singles, rbi; Tyler Casselbury added double, single.
The Knights are now 19-18 overall and 9-10 in Region X conference.
DCC plays Averett University JV on Tuesday at 7:00 at Dan Daniel Park.

DCC vs Central Virginia CC (Lynchburg, VA) @ Dan Daniel Park
DCC won 10-2. Six Knight pitchers combined to throw a 3 hitter with 14
K's. Tim Perry had 3 singles, 2 rbi's; Kris Williamson had 2 singles; Jonathan Aparicio
added triple; Austin Winkles had 3 singles, 2 rbi's; Brandon Mitchell had
homerun, double, single, 3 rbi's. The Knights picked up 15 hits.
DCC now 18-16 overall and 8-8 in NJCAA Region X, travels to the
coast this weekend for a 3 game conference series with Brunswick CC the #13
ranked team in NJCAA.
April 2, 2013
DCC vs Apprentice School (Hampton, VA) # 1 ranked team in USCAA (United
States Collegiate Athletic Assoc).
DCC lost 12-7 in 10 innings in a heart breaking defeat. With the score
tied 3-3 going to the 7th inning, 2 outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd the
Knights misplayed a routine fly ball which allowed Builders to score 4 unearned
runs. DCC responded with 4 in their have of the seventh to tie the game and had
runners at 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the ninth with one out and could not get
the ball out of the infield. The Builders struck for 5 in the 10th to secure the
win.
Jordan Roby (0-1) losing pitcher in relief. The Knight were led by
Brandon Mitchell with double, 2 singles; Austin Winkles had double, 2 singles, 2
rbi's; Conner Adams 3 singles, rbi; Jordan Roby added double, single, 2 rbi's.
DCC is now 17-16 overall and 8-8 NJCAA Region X.

DCC vs Wake Tech CC in a NJCAA Region X conference DH.
Game 1: DCC lost 15 - 3. Morgan Williams (2-3) losing pitcher. Brandon
Mitchell had double, single; Dylan Sligh had double, 2 singles, 2 rbi's.
Game 2: DCC won 6 - 5 in the bottom of the 7th on a walk off SAC bunt
with runners on 1st and 2nd by David Stuart and error by Wake Tech. Tim Perry
(1-0) picked up the win in relief. Dylan Sligh had 2 singles, rbi; Austin
Winkles had 2 singles; David Stuart had single, 2 rbi's; Dillon Reid added
triple, rbi.
The Knights are now 17 - 15 overall and stand 8 - 8 NJCAA Region X.
The Knights host Newport News Apprentice school ranked 2nd in country
in USCAA at 3:00 on Tuesday.

DCC vs Wake Tech CC at Dan Daniel Park
DCC won 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th with a lead off single by David
Stuart, SAC bunt by Kris Williamson and a walk off single by Jake Coleman to
record the game winning hit. Daniel Elliott (6-2) winning pitcher. Brandon
Mitchell had double, single; Dylan Sligh had double; David Stuart had 2 singles,
rbi; Jake Coleman had 2 singles, rbi; Conner Adams had single, rbi.
The Knights are now 16-14 and 7-7 NJCAA Region X and play host to Wake
Tech CC again at 12:00 DH tomorrow at Dan Daniel Park.

DCC won 23-1 on 23 hits which included 4 doubles and 3 triples and only
allowed SVCC 5 hits. Morgan Williams (2-2) winning pitcher. Dylan Sligh had 4
hits, 2 doubles, triple, single, 5 rbi's; Jordan Roby had 3 singles, rbi;
Dillon Reid added double, 2 singles, rbi; Corey Cullop had triple, 3 rbi's;
David Stuart had triple, 2 rbi's; Kris Williamson had double, single, rbi; Jake
Coleman added 2 singles, 2 rbi's; Austin Winkles had 2 singles, rbi.
DCC now 15-14 overall and 6-7 in NJCAA Region X play host to Wake Tech
CC in a weekend Region X 3 game series, Friday at 3:00 and Saturday DH at
12:00.

DCC vs Catawba Valley CC (#6 ranked NJCAA DII)
Game 1: DCC lost 12-3. Jason Kelly (2-4) losing pitcher. Brandon
Mitchell had triple and SAC fly to pick up all of the 3 rbi's. The Knights only
managed 4 hits.
Game 2: DCC lost 8-3. Daniel Elliott (5-2) losing pitcher. Dylan Sligh
had double, single; Jake Coleman added double; the game was tied 3-3 going into
the 5th but the Knights could not hold on.
DCC now 13-14 overall and 6-7 in NJCAA Region X play two non conference
games this week on Tuesday hosting Virginia Univ. of Lynchburg at 4:00 and
Wednesday hosting Southside Va. CC at 3:00 before hosting a big weekend
conference series against Wake Tech CC on Friday and Saturday.

led the offense with double, 2 singles, rbi; Jake Coleman had 2 singles; Brandon
Mitchell had double, single, 2 rbi's; Austin Winkles had double, single, 2 rbi's;
Tim Perry added a double.

hitter with 5 K's. Kris Williamson had 2 singles and 4 rbi's; Conner Adams,

had 2 singles, 2 rbi's; Jake Coleman had double, rbi; Kris Williamson had
double, 2 rbi's; Jordan Roby had a double.
Game 3: DCC won 5-2. Morgan Williams (1-2) winning pitcher. Brandon
Mitchell had double, single, rbi; Dylan Sligh had 2 single, rbi; Kris Williamson

The Knights are now 12-11 overall and 6-5 Region X conference play

5 games.
Game 1 Tuesday: DCC vs County College of Morris, NJ. DCC lost 15-6.
Brandon Mitchell (0-1) losing pitcher. The offense was led by Dylan Sligh who
had a triple, single, 3 rbi's; Austin Winkles had 2 singles, rbi; Tim Perry
added a double, rbi; DCC committed 5 errors.
Game 2 Tuesday: DCC vs Northhampton CC, PA. DCC lost 7-3. Morgan
Williams (0-2) losing pitcher. Dylan Sligh led the Knights with triple, single;
Dillon Reid added double, rbi. DCC was limited to 5 hits.
Game 1 Wednesday: DCC vs Genesee CC, NY. DCC lost 6-4. Daniel Elliott
(4-1) suffered his first loss of the season. The Knights only managed 5 hits and
committed 4 errors. Dillon Reid led the offense with 2 doubles, rbi.
Game 2 Wednesday: DCC vs Adirondack CC, NY. DCC won 9-8. Corey Cullop
(4-1) winning pitcher and Conner Adams picked up his 2nd save of the season.
Jake Coleman had 2 singles; Brandon Mitchell had 2 doubles, rbi; Jonathan Aparicio
added 2 singles, 2 rbi's; Dustin Smilek had double, singles, 2 rbi's; Dylan had
double, 2 rbi's; Jordan Roby had double.
Game 1 Thursday: DCC vs Lackawanna CC, PA who is 13th ranked team
in NJCAA DII, DCC lost 11-1. Thomas Brandon (0-1) losing pitcher. The Knights
only managed 3 singles from Austin Winkles, Kris Williamson, Conner Adams. The
Knights again had the error bug with 4.
The Knights are now 10-10 overall and 4-4 in Region X conference and
head to Dobson, NC to take on Surry CC in a 3 game series Saturday and Sunday

DCC lost 11-5. Morgan Williams (0-1) losing pitcher. The Knights
committed 6 error which led to 5 unearned runs. Jordan Roby led DCC with 2
doubles, single, rbi.
The Knights are now 9-6 overall and 4-4 in Region X conference. The
team left after the game for the spring break 5 game series in Myrtle Beach, SC.

DCC vs Patrick Henry CC @ Dan Daniel Park
Game 1: DCC lost 5-4, Jason Kelly (1-2) losing pitcher in a tough
decision. DCC held a 4-3 lead going into the 8th inning. The Knights were lead
on offense by Brandon Mitchell with a double, single; Austin Winkles double,
single, rbi; Tim Perry with 2 singles, Jonathan Aparicio and Dylan Sligh each
added doubles.
Game 2: DCC won 6-3, Daniel Elliott (4-0) winning pitcher throwing a 5
hitter. Jonathan Aparicio had 2 singles; Tim Perry added double, single, rbi;
Davis Stuart had a triple, rbi; Brandon Mitchell had a double.
The Knights now 9-5 overall and 4-3 in Region X conference.

The game for tomorrow March 6th against Thomas Nelson CC has been
cancelled by the city due to incoming weather tonight and tomorrow.
Coach Smith has been contacted about scheduling a make up which will be
announced.

DCC vs Rockingham CC in a three game Region X conference
series at Dan Daniel Park on Saturday & Sunday.
Game 1: DCC won 4-1 behind the excellent pitching
performance from Daniel Elliott (3-0) who threw 8 innings with 8 K'S
and only allowed only run, Conner Adams picked up his first save of
the year with a scoreless ninth. The Knights were paced on offense
by Dylan Sligh going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, rbi; Brandon Mitchell
added 2 singles, rbi; David Stuart had double, single.
Game 2: DCC lost 4-3 with Trevor Almond (1-1) picking up
the loss in relief. The Knights were lead by Brandon Mitchell with 2
doubles, single; Dylan Sligh and Dillon Reid added doubles; base
running mistakes were costly in the loss.
Game 3: DCC lost 13-6 with Corey Cullop (3-1) suffering his
first loss of the season. Jonathan Aparicio lead the offense with
triple, 2 singles, rbi; Dylan Sligh and Austin Winkles each had 2
singles, rbi; David Stuart added double, 2 rbi's.
The Knights now stand 8-4 overall and 3-2 in Region X
Conference next play Wednesday at home at 3:00 against Thomas Nelson
CC.

DCC won 16 - 6. Jason Kelly (1-1) picked up the win. DCC
banged out 15 hits. Jonathan Aparicio was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2
singles, 2 rbi's; Dustin Smilek had 2 run homer; single, 3 rbi's;
Jake Coleman added 2 singles; Dylan Sligh had a 2 run homer, 2 rbi's;
Tim Perry added double; Dillon Reid had triple; Travis Tyree had
double, rbi.
DCC now 7-2 overall and 2-0 in Region X play at home
Saturday at Dan Daniel Park against Rockingham CC in a Region X
conference DH starting at 1:00.

Game 1: DCC won 13-1 in a 5 inning mercy rule game. Daniel
Elliott (2-0) winning pitcher throwing a 1 hitter over 4 innings.
The Knights picked up 10 hits, 4 BB, 2 hit batters to score it's 13
runs. They were lead by Jake Coleman with double, single; Jonathan Aparicio
2 singles, 2 rbi's; Dylan Sligh added double, single, 3 rbi's;
Brandon Mitchell, Tim Perry each added doubles and a rbi.
Game 2: DCC won 5-0. Corey Cullop improved to (3-0) in
picking up the win throwing a 2 hitter. Brandon Mitchell had
solo homer, double, single, 2 rbi's; Jonathan Aparicio had 3
singles, double, rbi; Jake Coleman added double.
The Knights now 6-2 overall and moving to 2-0 in Region X
will play a non conference game on Wednesday 27th at 3:30 against
New River CC at Market Garden Field then play a 3 game series
against Rockingham CC on Saturday (DH) & Sunday at Dan Daniel Park
at 1:00.

out 20 hits. Jonathan Aparicio was 3 for 6 with double, 2 singles, 3
rbi's; Brandon Mitchell had a 2 run homer, 2 rbi's; Wesley Marshall
chipped in with 2 doubles, 2 rbi's; Jordan Roby and Dillon Reid added
doubles. Austin Winkles, Kris Williamson, Travis Tyree each had 2
singles.
The Knights now 4-2 have their first Region X conference series
scheduled for this weekend at home at Market Garden Field.
February 18, 2013 @ Ferrum University
DCC won 16 - 6 vs the Ferrum University JV. Daniel Elliott
(1-0) pitched 6 solid innings to get the win before turning it
over to the bullpen. The Knights banged out 16 hits. Brandon Mitchell
was 4 for 6, triple, double, 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Dillon Reid was 3 for
4, 3 run homer, double, single, 4 rbi's; Austin Winkles added double,
single, 3 rbi's; Kris Williamson added triple, single, rbi; Jordan Roby
had double, rbi.
The Knights, now 3-2, play Wednesday at home Market Garden
Field at 3:00 vs Southside Va. CC which is a schedule flip flop of games
with them.

DCC won 17- 9 taking advantage of 15 walks and 4 hit batters and getting 12 hits. Corey Cullop (1-0) winning pitcher. Brandon Mitchell was 4 for 6 with double, 3 singles, 2 rbi's; Jake Coleman was 3 for 4 with double, 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Jordan Roby had a grand slam homerun and 5 rbi's, Dylan Sligh added a double, 2 rbi's.
The Knights now 2-2 play next on Monday at Ferrum University at 4:00.

The DCC KNIGHTS have inked Caleb Miscue, RHP, Hargrave Military
Academy, from Yanceyville, NC to a National Letter of Intent. The hard
throwing RHP will lead Hargrave this spring. He plans to study either
Business or Criminal Justice.

DCC won 18-7. Trevor Almond picked up the win in relief. Jason
Kelly and Daniel Elliott each threw 2 shutout innings. DCC banged out 18
runs on 18 hits. Jake Coleman had 3 singles, 2 rbis; Brandon Mitchell had
triple, 2 singles, 2 rbis; Jonathan Aparicio added double, single; Tyler
Hudgins had 2 singles, rbi; Dylan Sligh had triple, 2 rbis; Tim Perry had 2
singles, 2 rbis; Jordan Roby added double, rbi; David Stuart had a solo
homer, rbi; Travis Tyree had double.
DCC now 1-2 next plays Monday at Methodist University a DH.

DCC vs Guilford Tech CC - Jamestown, NC
DCC opened the 2013 season dropping a DH to NJCAA D1 Guilford Tech
CC by scores of 4-1 and 7-0. The Knights played atom ball where everything
hit was right to them in both games and the hits could not find any holes.
Game 1: DCC lost 4-1, Ryan Cooper losing pitcher. The Knights only
managed 3 singles by Brandon Mitchell, Dylan Sligh, Tim Perry. Several
correctable mental mistakes gave them 3 of their 4 runs.
Game 2: DCC lost 7-0, Jason Kelly losing pitcher. DCC only managed
1 hit a single by Brandon Mitchell.
DCC (0-2) plays Averett Univ. JV on Wednesday at 2:30 at Averett.

'"Meet the 2013 Knights" reception to be Thursday, January 24 at 3:00 in
Wyatt Bldg. second floor board room. Includes introductions of players
and coaches, comments from Dr. Ramsey and a few other guests.
Refreshments will be served, the newspaper will do interviews and individual
and team pictures will be taken. Everyone is welcome.

Five of the Knights returning players, all Sophomores, made the Vice
President list for GPA (3.0 -3.74) for the fall of 2012. They are Brandon
Mitchell, Dillon Reid, James Cooper, Austin Winkles, and Morgan Williams.
We would also like to acknowledge Freshman, Jordan Roby and David Stuart.
Both were over a 3.0 GPA.

The Knights are pleased to announce they have added another recruit for the
2013/2014 season and will be signing a National Letter of Intent on January 15
signing day. Jacob Kiser, 1B/3B, is from William B. Travis HS in Richmond,
Texas (Houston, TX area). Jacob will be in the STEM-H program doing the transfer
Science program.

The Knights received another verbal commitment for the 2013/2014 season in
Austin Ricketts a C/3B from Courtland HS, Spotsylvania, VA.. He plans to take
either Criminal Justice or Business.

The Knights received its first verbal commitment for the 2013/2014 season and
soon to be "National Letter of Intent" today from Ross Mountcasel from Cosby HS,
Richmond, VA. He is a LHP/1B/0F and will be taking Auto Body.

The Knights are pleased to announce the hiring of Zach Harrelson to the
coaching staff for the spring of 2013.
Zach graduated from George Washington HS in Danville where the played 4 years
of varsity baseball received a academic and athletic scholarship to attend
Hampden Sydney College. He graduated with a degree in Science and while there
set several offensive baseball records in his four year there. Zach taught
Biology at GWHS last year and decided he wanted a change and will be entering
Physical Therapy school at either Radford or Lynchburg College next fall. He is
currently taking some graduate classes at DCC in the fall and spring 2013. Zach
will be a huge asset to the program with his knowledge and experience.
2012 Fall Review.
The 2012 fall season has come to a end with a record of 8-4 and 4 rainouts.
We had 34 student athletes out for the fall, and competition was really great at
each position. Several of our guys got good looks at the Campbell Univ. Showcase
games and a couple will be getting offers from NCAA DI schools that were there.
Our fall fundraiser Marathon Game Day was again a big success as it has been in
the past and we really owe a big thank you to all who donated. We are looking
forward to January 7th to get started and feel we will have the team in 2013 to
make our first NJCAA Regionals and hopefully a trip to Enid, OK for the NJCAA
DII World Series. The 2013 spring schedule is listed on the NJCAA website, but
there are several changes that will have to be made to it for mid week games.

Coach Bailey welcomed in a total of 33 student athletics for the fall season,
and with 11 returning and 22 new students, he sees competition at every position
after their first day of fall workouts. The Knights can go 2 and 3 deep at most
positions, and everyone knows the fall is only about evaluation getting ready
for the spring and seeing who really wants it.
The Knights open their fall schedule which
is on the web site on Labor Day in a 2:00 DH at Market Garden Field against
a showcase team out of NC.
