I. Catalog Description: Presents abstract and representational painting in watercolor with emphasis on design, color, composition, technique and value. Prerequisite ART 131, or divisional approval.
II. Relationship of the course to curricula objectives in which it is taught: This course should be considered as a fundamental preparation for more advanced fine art or design courses. It is a transfer course which meets fine arts requirements in the Liberal Arts – Humanities Specialization.

C. Color wheel, value scale
D. Composition and rhythm
E. Complementary colors and neutrals
F. Figure drawing, portrait in drawing
G. Perspective and landscapes
H. Preparing the watercolor paper and other surfaces
I. Visiting/ Preparing art displays
Students will be evaluated on multiple painting projects and assignments as designed by faculty. In addition, students will be assessed on the basis of some combination of quizzes, tests, and other projects as assigned by faculty.
