Sherry Fraser Gott received her B.A. and M.A. in English from VA Tech and did doctoral work at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Since graduate school, she has taught at Ohio Northern University, Norfolk State University, and Eastern Shore Community College before coming to Danville. In addition to teaching, she has also owned The Write Business and was an editor for American Book Publishing. She is currently consulting/editing for a local attorney. Ms. Gott is also an advisor for Phi Theta Kappa.

Outside the academic environment, Ms. Gott enjoys working on old houses and singing in the Danville Choral Arts Association and Church of the Epiphany as well as doing solo performances in local events. She has two children in college and is kept company at home by four cats, two dogs, a feisty Betta, a red-eared slider, and a very intelligent white lab rat.

Ms. Gott teaches Freshman Composition, Technical Writing, and American and British literature.
