Course Number and Title:   EIP 150, Expressive Vocabulary Building and Expressive Text Analysis for Interpreters I

      I.        Catalog Description:  Expands and improves expressive sign language skills necessary for effective communication and interpreting. Includes vocabulary building within context (spoken and written), refinement of sign production and auditory memory.

    II.        Relationship of the course to curricula objectives in which it is taught: Provides a continuing foundation for interpreting skills.

A.   Vocabulary Expansion

a.    English vocabulary

b.    Sign vocabulary

B.   Analysis of Sign Production/Sign Production Errors and Correction of Same

C.   Analysis of Non-verbal Aspects of Signing

D.   Expressive Skill Development

E.   Conceptually Accurate Signing

F.    Incorporation of ASL Concepts Within the Transliteration Process

E.   Refine and enhance expressive sign skills through text analysis and application
