The Student Development Department at Danville Community College recognizes that the development of the whole student is achieved through in-class and out-of-class learning opportunities and experiences. We believe that by providing intellectual, personal, cultural, and professional opportunities for learning and growing, students will graduate from DCC with a better understanding of themselves and their peers, their chosen professions and responsibilities as part of a larger community.

Student Development programs and services are grounded in the philosophy that all students be given opportunities and responsibilities for engaging in activities, programs and services relevant to their individual learning opportunities.

Peter Castiglione is the Director of Student Development & Enrollment Services at DCC.  Mr. Castiglione is a graduate of Southeastern College and Virginia Tech. Mr. Castiglione was born in New York, but spent his formative years in Hollywood, Florida. He has worked at DCC for the past three decades in several different capacities, both as a professor and an administrator. Currently, he also serves on Danville City Council and is the former vice mayor of Danville.
