International
students
Thank you for your interest
in Danville Community College. Please review the criteria for
admission as an international student, which are listed below. All
materials must be turned in by April 30th of the year
preceding the fall admission. Once received an I-20 form and a letter of
acceptance will be sent to you.
1. A doctor’s
statement certifying that you are in good health and giving details of
any physical or mental limitations that DCC will need to consider in
meeting your needs.
2. A certified letter of affidavit showing proof of financial
support. It is estimated that $23,000 per year is needed to
provide minimal support. This includes out-of-state tuition and
books for fall, spring and summer terms for two years.
3.
Proof of written English ability. The
written proficiency may be shown by a combined total of 550 or greater
on TOEFL or a score of 480 or greater on SAT verbal.
4. Proof of spoken English ability. This may
be certified by a letter from an official of the U.S. Consulate of
Embassy in your country.
5. Transcripts
of all secondary and college work. Please provide a certified
English translation with a written explanation of the grading system
used in granting the grades.
Each
student is given a placement test in mathematics, English and reading in
order to advise the student on the best courses to take to ensure
his/her success.
