International students

Thank you for your interest in Danville Community College.  Please review the criteria for admission as an international student, which are listed below. All materials must be turned in by April 30th of the year preceding the fall admission. Once received an I-20 form and a letter of acceptance will be sent to you.

 1. A doctor’s statement certifying that you are in good health and giving details of any physical or mental limitations that DCC will need to consider in meeting your needs.

2.   A certified letter of affidavit showing proof of financial support.  It is estimated that $23,000 per year is needed to provide minimal support.  This includes out-of-state tuition and books for fall, spring and summer terms for two years.

 3.   Proof of written English ability.  The written proficiency may be shown by a combined total of 550 or greater on TOEFL or a score of 480 or greater on SAT verbal.

4.   Proof of spoken English ability.  This may be certified by a letter from an official of the U.S. Consulate of Embassy in your country.

5.  Transcripts of all secondary and college work.  Please provide a certified English translation with a written explanation of the grading system used in granting the grades.

Each student is given a placement test in mathematics, English and reading in order to advise the student on the best courses to take to ensure his/her success.
