President's Message

Welcome to Danville Community College (DCC). Speaking on behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we appreciate the opportunity to serve your pursuit of personal growth and refinement of your skills and talents.

Our program completers have compiled a strong record of success and we are proud to have been able to help them in their accomplishments:

- Graduates of the nursing program have achieved a 100% successful pass rate on the National Counsel of Licensure Examination (NCLEX) exam.

- Precision Machining is distinguished by the outstanding job placement rates for our graduates and what is even more compelling is the fact that many graduates receive multiple job offers. DCC is one of only four colleges in the United States recognized as a certified training center by HAAS, a global manufacturer of high tech metal machine tools and co-sponsor of the HAAS-Stewart racing team.

- DCC is recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA), and the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as among the few colleges in Virginia to have an exemplary program in Cyber Security.

- The recent Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC) study, sponsored by the Virginia legislature, noted that DCC was the second highest performing community college in the Commonwealth in terms of overall program completion/graduation.

- Transfer students, who first complete a degree at DCC, are significantly more likely to finish a Bachelor’s degree on time, than are students who attend a four-year school directly out of high school.

To better serve our outstanding student body, we recently renovated the campus facilities which house our precision machining, dimensional inspection, and automotive analysis and repair programs as well as the DCC Castle Bookstore. Our welding program finds its home in the college’s new welding building, outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment to best train the workforce of tomorrow.

We constantly seek to improve our support and enrollment services, and welcome your feedback on how we’re doing.  I am delighted to tell you that most students who attend our orientation, leave campus with a schedule in hand on that same date.  We are here to serve you and to help navigate the complexities of starting your program of study.

Thank you, and I hope to see you around campus.
