d-SCAN DONATES FURNITURE TO DCC

DANVILLE, VA., February 24, 2003 -- Danville Community College recently hosted a reception to recognize d-Scan Inc. of South Boston for its contributions to the newly-renovated Wyatt Building. The firm, which manufactures office and recreational furniture, donated office, classroom, and conference room furniture. Plant Manager David Nelson was presented a resolution of appreciation by DCC President Dr. Carlyle Ramsey.

“We’re so excited and grateful to d-Scan,” Ramsey said in making the presentation on behalf of the DCC Board, Educational Foundation Board, employees and students. Ramsey added that the company provided 50 desks and chairs, 32 hutches, 28 computer desks and two conference tables.

Nelson, in accepting the resolution, said helping DCC helps d-Scan.

“We need the support of the college system to survive,” Nelson added. “Hopefully we can continue to work with DCC to improve our work force and the community’s work force.”

In addition to providing the furniture, d-Scan has previously supported DCC by offering scholarships to Halifax County students.
