Teresa King

Teresa King of Scottsburg is enrolled in the Liberal Arts/College Transfer program and expects to receive her Associate in Arts and Science Degree in May 2005. She is also completing requirements for a Career Studies Certificate in Web Design. She plans a career in education.

King had taken a few classes at DCC off and on for years. But, in April 2002, she faced a layoff from Burlington Industries and enrolled full time. While at DCC, she has been active with Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community college students. She also works part-time in DCC’s Office of Institutional Advancement and for Danville Online Communications.

“I chose DCC for several reasons,” she says. “I heard good things about the college, and the location and flexibility in my class schedule also played a part in my decision.”

King says she regularly encourages others to attend DCC.

“The best thing about DCC is its people,” King says. “They are always willing to help you.”
