Linda Poke

A resident of Danville, Linda Poke is pursuing an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Administration of Justice with a specialization in Corrections. She expects to complete her studies in December.

“I chose to attend DCC because it is affordable and it’s in the community where I live,” Poke said. “I have both family and friends who have attended DCC, and they said it is a good place to go.”

After graduation, Poke said she plans to work in the corrections field to gain the experience and on-the-job training that she says she will use to further her career.

Outside of school, Poke is an employee of Dan River, Inc. and enjoys being involved in her church’s activities for children.

Poke said she encourages others to attend DCC because of its affordability and high-quality educational efforts.

“In my opinion, the instructors are the best thing about DCC,” she said. “I don’t think that I could have made it if I had not had instructors who really took time and interest in my future.”
