MARQUITA JONES

Marquita Jones of Danville is enrolled in the Business Administration curriculum and will graduate in May 2004 with an Associate of Arts and Science Degree. After completing her DCC studies, she plans to transfer to a four-year university and plan a major in the field of law. The George Washington High School graduate is the daughter of Debra Martin and Freddie Jones, and the mother of Kylah Jones.

“I chose DCC because I was not ready to leave home. DCC seemed to be the right college for me at the time,” she says. “I also felt I would be better prepared for a four-year college or university if I started at DCC.”

While at DCC, Jones works part-time in the Apprenticeship Office. She is also an active member of the Afro-American Culture Club and the DCC Gospel Ensemble.

Jones definitely encourages others to attend DCC.

“DCC is a stepping stone for those who are not quite sure about what they want to do,” she says. “DCC offers a lot of different courses of study --so there is something for everyone!”
