Charles Thomas Shepherd, the son of Thomas and Sharon Shepherd, is a 2000 graduate of Patrick County High School. He is enrolled in the Information Systems Technology-Computer Programming curriculum and expects to complete his studies this summer and receive his Associate in Applied Science degree. After graduation, he plans to pursue a baccalaureate degree in computer science at Old Dominion University’s TeleTechnet program on DCC’s campus. Shepherd is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year college students and he works part-time in the college’s Office of Planning, Research and Institutional Effectiveness. He says he chose DCC because of its location and the quality programs. “It is close to home,” he says. “DCC also offers my particular program of interest, and the tuition is affordable.” Shepherd says he definitely encourages others to attend DCC. “Anyone interested in advancing their education should consider attending DCC. The college has a wide variety of programs, small class sizes, and excellent instructors.” For more information,
