Karen King

Karen King will finish her studies in Early Childhood Development and will receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree next month. She eventually plans to open her own child care facility. A Tunstall High School graduate, she is the mother of two children, Bronaza and Francis Fitzgerald.

King leads a very busy life; she coaches a City of Danville Minor League Girl's Basketball team, and works full time at Ruby Tuesday's. Even though King remains busy, she continues to maintain a 3.5 grade point average.

King says she encourages others to attend DCC.

"Coming to college has made me realize I can do anything,” she says. “It will make you feel good about yourself and once you finish, you will have something no one can take away from you.”
