REBEKAH HELDRETH MEMORIAL

SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED AT DCC

            DANVILLE, VA, August 25, 2003 -- An endowed scholarship in memory of a young college student who lost her life last spring in a tragic accident, has been established at Danville Community College. The Rebekah L. Heldreth Memorial Scholarship is an endowed award to the DCC Educational Foundation presented by Heldreth’s family and friends. Heldreth died May 1, 2003 as a result of injuries received in a traffic accident. A 2002 graduate of Danville Community College who later transferred to Campbell University’s pharmacy program, Heldreth will be remembered for her energy, smile, and spirit.

            The first award will be presented in 2004-2005. The scholarship will be awarded to one or more DCC students who exemplify Heldreth’s character.
