DANVILLE, VA., April 3, 2003 -- The Upsilon Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society at Danville Community College has been recognized as the “Most Distinguished Chapter” in the region. The local group received honors for its memory book, newsletter and fundraising efforts. In addition, the chapter also was named an “International Five-Star Chapter”. The awards were announced at the 2003 annual convention held recently in Portsmouth, VA. Honors received at the meeting included:
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges, with more than 1,200 chapters at community, technical and junior colleges in all 50 states, Canada, Germany, Japan, and U.S. territories.
