LOCAL NATURALIST TO PRESENT

SERIES OF LECTURES AT DCC MUSEUM

 

 

            DANVILLE, VA, September 26, 2003-- The Estelle H. Womack Museum of Natural History, located on the campus of Danville Community College, will present a series of lectures in October and November by local naturalist William F. Hathaway.  Hathaway was a protégée of the late Johnny Westbrook and has carried on the tradition of making the wonders of nature known to people of all ages. Hathaway’s years of study and practical experience make him a treasure of the community to those who wish to learn about the natural world.

An initial list of lecture dates and topics are as follows:

  • Tuesday, October 7, Stone Age Artifacts

  • Tuesday, October 21, The Green Swamp

  • Tuesday, November 4, Selected Local Mushrooms

  • Tuesday, November 18, Selected Favorite Wildflowers of Pittsylvania County

Additional lectures will be announced at a later date. The lectures will convene at 7:00 p.m. in the Estelle H.
