HONORED FOR SERVICE

            DANVILLE, VA, May 22, 2002 -- Eighteen Danville Community College faculty, staff, and administrators were honored recently at a service awards program.  The awards ranged from 35 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia to five years of service.  Dr. B. Carlyle Ramsey, DCC President, Dr. Betty Jo Foster, Dean of Instruction and Student Development, and Boyd Motley, Dean of Financial and Administrative Services, presented the awards.

            Two employees, Glenda Boswell, Administrative Assistant to the President, and Dr. Harry Kolendrianos, Professor of Business Management, were recognized for 35 years of service.  Four other staff members were recognized for 30 years of service. They are: Joseph Carr, Associate Professor of Biology; Fred Lloyd, Associate Professor of History; Vicki Holland Taylor, Assistant Professor of Sociology; and Dr. Edward White, Chair, Division of Business and Engineering Technology.

            Others recognized included: Larry Heldreth, 25 years of service; Ann Ferguson, 20 years of service; Donna Agee, Marvin Johnson, Jim Phillips, and Danny Rakes, all 15 years of service; Amy Abbott, Janet Laughlin, and Troy Simpson, all 10 years of service; and Mike Giles, Barbara Renn, and Teresa Toler, all with five years of service.
