DANVILLE, VA, May 23, 2003 -- Fourteen Danville Community College faculty, staff, and administrators were honored recently at a service awards program. The awards ranged from 35 years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia to five years of service. Dr. B. Carlyle Ramsey, DCC President, Dr. Betty Jo Foster, Vice President of Academic and Student Services, and Boyd Motley, Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services, presented the awards.

Two employees, Else Liggon, who recently retired as Coordinator of Financial Aid, and Betty Philpott, Administrative and Program Specialist II – Electronics Department, were recognized for 35 years of service. Three other staff members were recognized for 30 years of service. They are: Dr. Edward Polhamus, Professor of Mathematics; Joe Nixon, Associate Professor of Electrical-Electronics; and John Burton, Maintenance Department.

Others recognized included: Anna Ludwick, 20 years of service; Andrea Burney and Dr. Carlyle Ramsey, both 15 years of service; John Cliff, Doug Poole, Bill Roche, and Dr. Mark Sanderford, all 10 years of service; and James Adkins, and Andre Jordan, both with five years of service.
