AWARDS PRESENTED AT DCC

DANVILLE, VA, May 20, 2005 --Thirty-one Danville Community College faculty, staff and

Danville Community College employees were honored for their service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. administrators were honored recently for their service to the commonwealth. The awards ranged from five years to 40 years of service and the program marked the 25th year that the DCC Board has recognized individuals for their service. Awards were presented by DCC President Dr. Carlyle Ramsey.

Thomas B. Cannon, Professor of Information Systems Technology, was recognized for 40 years of service. In addition, George “Buddy” Clayton, Professor of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration; Judy DeMarcus, Administrative & Office Specialist III - Workforce Services Office; Dr. Claude Moore, Professor of Mathematics; Bobbi Quisenberry, Administrative & Office Specialist III - Student Development Office; and David Walker, Warehouse Specialist III, were all honored for 35 years of service.

Thirty-year honorees included: Ronald Fitzgerald, Trades Technician II; Marie Lewis, Library Practitioner I; and Kinney Rorrer, Assistant Professor of History.

Others recognized included: Sammy Shelton, 25 years of service; Mary Gore, Barbara Grether, and Patricia Mullins, all 20 years of service; Charlie Adams, Dale Branch, Richard Motley, Evonda Thornton and Alice Walker, all 15 years of service; Dr. Paul Fox, John Heinrich and Nettie Simon-Owens, all 10 years of service; and, Fran Carter, JoLane Dunlap, Cynthia Fisher, Rob Huffman, Kristie Linn, Chris Marshall, Rhonda Mustain, Gail Neal, Catherine Pulliam and Mark Gibson, all five years of service.
