ADDRESSES
JUSTICE CONFERENCE DANVILLE, VA., October 1, 2003 -- Noted forensics scientist Dr. Henry C. Lee was the
keynote
presenter at the American Criminal Justice Association, Lambda Alpha
Epsilon 2003 Region IV Conference, held October 1-3, at the Stratford
Inn Conference Center in Danville. The conference, hosted by Danville
Community College’s Justice Club chapter and the Administration of
Justice program, attracted about
200 students and their program advisors from eight states --
Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Virginia, and West Virginia. The theme was “Forensic Science in Your
Future.” Lee,
who has investigated more than 4,000 homicides and testified as an
expert in more than 1,000 criminal and civil cases, serves as a
consultant for over 300 police and law enforcement agencies. He has more
than 40 years of practical experience and knowledge from the fields of
medicine, chemical analysis, physics, biochemistry and material science.
Lee will conduct a session on Thursday morning, Oct. 2, from 7:30 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m., and from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. In addition to Lee’s presentation and a session on crime scenes, the conference includes written competitions in a variety of areas, such as police management and operations, corrections, juvenile justice, criminal law. The Friday night speaker was the Robert Crouch, Jr., Chief Deputy Secretary of Public Safety for Virginia.
