DCC STUDENTS PLAN VOTER

REGISTRATION DRIVES

DANVILLE, VA, September 11, 2002 -- Danville Community College students will conduct a voter registration drive on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17 - 18. The drive is planned to increase awareness of the political process and to encourage greater numbers of students to become registered voters.

On DCC’s main campus in Danville, the registration tables will be staffed by members of various student organizations, including the Student Government Association, and they will be available in each building from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Off-campus at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center in South Boston, the registration tables will be available from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m..

At DCC’s Pittsylvania County location at the Riddle Center in Gretna, voter registration will be held on Monday, September 16, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. In addition to DCC students, others in the community are welcome to register to vote at any of these DCC locations.
