DANVILLE, VA, May 12, 2004 -- Sixty-nine Danville Community College students were recognized recently at the Seventh Annual Awards Recognition and Reception. The students were recognized for their leadership and community service, academic skills, and their work with clubs and other campus organizations. Todd Yeatts, Assistant City Manager for Government Affairs for the City of Danville, was the guest speaker. Awards were presented by Dr. Carlyle Ramsey, DCC President; Dr. Betty Jo Foster, Vice President of Academic & Student Services; and Mr. Peter A. Castiglione, Director of Student Development and Enrollment Management. Scholarship awards were presented to the following students who will transfer this fall to four-year universities. They are: Barksdale Honors Scholarship Denise A. Stickel, Chatham - $4,000 Andria Cocke, Gretna - $2,000 Shana A. Jonas, Danville - $1,000 James T. Catlin, Jr. - Kiwanis Scholarship Award Tammy W. Campbell, Ringgold - $1,500 James Bustard Endowed ScholarshipsMatthew R. Shepherd, Danville - $3,000 Kim L. Pool, South Boston - $2,400 Amy M.
