DCC SETS ANNUAL SPRING

OPEN HOUSE ON APRIL 6

DANVILLE, VA, March 28, 2005 – Danville Community College will hold its annual Spring Open House on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A highlight of the day-long event will be the Student Challenge: Tire Changing Competition from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the ball field outside the EIT Building. The event will allow DCC students and high school students to compete for several prizes, including a ride along with well-known driver and DCC alumnus Peyton Sellers.

Additional activities on tap for prospective students include financial aid and college counseling in the tent outside the bookstore, and a Health Fair, conducted by practical nursing and dental hygiene students. Prospective students also can take a guided campus tour, visit the DCC bookstore, view DCC club displays, or tour the Estelle H. Womack Museum of Natural History. Refreshments will be available for a nominal fee.

DCC is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The service area includes the City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County. The college awards associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in more than 40 programs of study.
