DCC SETS 5TH ANNUAL

CAREER FAIR ON MARCH 9

DANVILLE, VA, March 1, 2005 – More than 50 employers will be on hand March 9 at the Danville Community Market to discuss employment opportunities during the Fifth Annual Career Fair sponsored by Danville Community College’s Career Placement Office. The event will take place from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

The Career Fair is designed for DCC students, as well as former students and DCC alumni who are seeking employment or a career change, according to Cathy Conner, Coordinator of Career Placement and the Southern Piedmont Tech Prep Consortium at DCC. She added that local businesses as well as others from throughout the commonwealth and North Carolina will be participating in the Career Fair.

“This event gives students, especially those nearing graduation, an opportunity to talk face-to-face with employers whom they might not be able to gain contact with otherwise,” Conner said. “With increased competition for jobs, we are able to help students get their individual skills and abilities out there for employers to see.”
