DCC CHANGES LOCATION FOR

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

            DANVILLE, Va., August 15, 2003 -- Due to an unexpected large number of new students requesting to attend Student Orientation at Danville Community College on Thursday, August 21, the college has changed the location from Oliver Hall on campus to the George Washington High School auditorium  (located at 701 Broad Street in Danville). Transportation will be provided to the DCC campus for lunch, class advising, and registration. The Orientation session will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Parent’s Orientation will remain on the DCC campus and will be held in the Library of the Learning Resources Center, also beginning at 8:30 a.m.

DCC is preparing for a record enrollment this Fall Semester when classes begin August 25. A one-day orientation, registration and advising session is held for students new to the college and their parents. With Thursday’s Orientation, the last of 3 sessions held this summer, more than 1,200 new students will have gone through the process.
