ANNUAL SPRING OPEN HOUSE SET APRIL 8 

DANVILLE, VA, April 1, 2008 – Danville Community College will hold its annual Spring Open House on Tuesday, April 8. Most of the events will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

This is an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the community college. Throughout the day, visitors can sit in on college classes or tour program labs in air conditioning, electrical/electronics technology, auto body, automotive, drafting and design, graphic imaging technology, precision machining technology and information systems technology. Find out more about DCC’s newest programs in engineering (set to begin fall 2008), allied health and nursing, as well as early childhood education, business management, marketing and administration of justice.  

There will be information on club sports, including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, soccer, golf and softball. Students seeking to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a baccalaureate degree can get more details about transfer options in the Liberal Arts, Business Administration and Science programs. 

Additional activities on tap for prospective students include financial aid, college counseling, admissions and career assessment information. Students can also view DCC club displays and participate in student activities, such as the car show, car audio sound competition, Wii Guitar Hero and Wii Dance Dance Revolution games. Refreshments will be available for a nominal fee.

DCC is one of 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The service area includes the City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County. The college awards associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in more than 40 programs of study.
