DANVILLE, VA, September 21, 2006 -Congratulations to the 21 graduates of the 2006 Danville Community College practical nursing program class who recently achieved a 100 percent pass rate on their state licensure exams.

According to Tammy McKinney, Assistant Professor of Practical Nursing, graduates of both the Certificate and the Associate of Applied Science degree programs' took the Board of Nursing exams and received licensure. McKinney is especially pleased with the results because this is the first graduating class of the associate degree program.

"The nursing curriculum is a vigorous program of study but does lend a promising career," McKinney said. "Every student graduates with a job, rarely faces lay offs, and most are able to obtain positions in areas of practice of interest."
