Type of College Danville Community College, founded in 1967, is one of 23 public community colleges in Virginia, and is governed by the State Board for Community Colleges. The College serves the city of Danville and the counties of Pittsylvania and Halifax (total population 147,511). Tuition and fees for Virginia students are $67.35 per credit (includes a $3.15 per credit Information Technology Fee and $0.50 per credit Student Activity Fee). In addition a $1 maintenance fee is collected for students taking 3 or more credit on the Danville campus. Tuition and fees for out-of-state students are $214.80 per credit, which includes the same fees as an in-state student plus a $1.50 per credit Capital Fee . A full-time Virginia student (12 credits per semester) pays approximately $1,800 for tuition and fees for two semesters. Financial Aid DCC students have access to a full range of grants, loans and scholarships. The Financial Aid Office helps students in applying for assistance. More than 1,458 students benefited from financial aid in 2002-2003, totaling more than $3.2 million. In addition, more than 132 scholarships, totaling over $72,515, has been awarded through the DCC Educational Foundation in 2003-2004. DCC Partners |
