DANVILLE, VA, August 15, 2001 -- Debra Smith, a part-time instructor in Welding, has been named Adjunct Instructor of the Year. Smith graduated from DCC with a degree in Machine Technology in 1995 and has been teaching as a Welding instructor ever since. Prior to her attending DCC, she was in the construction business where she built modular houses. “I enjoy and love teaching Welding,” states the Danville native. “If I can help one person accomplish something, it makes the difference.” Smith was recommended for the honor based on recommendations from faculty, students and administrators. She was cited for her dedication, helpful attitude, and work with students.
