CHILD
DEVELOPMENT CENTER OPENS
DANVILLE,
VA, October 18, 2001 --- The
Carrington Child Development Center was dedicated recently and included
local and state officials at the ceremony. The Center, which is operated
by Families First, Inc., was established on DCCs campus after a needs
survey indicated that students and employees were in need of child care
services. The state of the art facility can accommodate up to 80 children,
ranging in age from 30 months through 12 years. It also serves as a
training lab for students enrolled in the Early Childhood Development
program. Shown, left to right, are: State Senator Charles Hawkins;
Mrs.
Hazel York, President of the DCC Educational Foundation Board; DCC
President Dr. Carlyle Ramsey; Carrington Bidgood (representing the
Carrington Family); Greg Boozer, Chair of the Danville Community College
Board; and Del. Whitt Clement. For more information about the Center,
contact Dianna Forest of Families First, at 434.793.9531.
