DCC Honor Society Students Volunteer to “Shred Out Hunger"

(September 29, 2017)  – Danville Community College’s Alpha Beta Gamma (ABG) Honor Society members volunteered at God’s Storehouse on Saturday, September 23, by joining forces with Commonwealth Document Management to “Shred Out Hunger."
This cooperative event provided community residents an opportunity to visit God’s Storehouse and have their sensitive or confidential documents safely shredded and destroyed. Residents who took advantage of this event were encouraged to make donations of 30 cents per pound of documents or donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items.
The event generated over 2,400 pounds of shredded documents while raising over $1,000 in monetary and food donations for God’s Storehouse.
ABG members would like to acknowledge and thank DCC personnel Cheryl Terry, Penny Purnell, and Jo Ann Moore for participating by having their documents shredded and contributing donations to the fundraiser.
