Mark Danville Community College’s upcoming Constitution Day program on your calendar: Tuesday, September 22, 11 a.m.-Noon in Oliver Hall, in the Temple Building on the College’s main campus. Constitution Day commemorates the September 17, 1787 signing of a landmark document in American history.

“The American Constitution is the most important document in this country, as it is the Law of the Land defining how the rights of people should be administered by their government, inspiring countries around the world,? says Ana Ruiz-Fodor, Associate Professor of History. “This year, to celebrate Constitution Day, we are lucky to have Ms. Joan Ziglar, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Danville, and Bryan Haskins, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Pittsylvania County, as our guest speakers. They will discuss recent local and national events that have affected in the past few months the ways in which we see our nation’s laws.?
