DCC Offering Noncredit Courses Focused on Industry Certifications

DANVILLE, VA, March 5, 2015 – Danville Community College’s Workforce Services Office is offering a range of noncredit courses this spring and summer which place students on the path to earning industry-recognized national certifications. Some of the courses prepare students to sit for certification examinations. Others offer the opportunity to walk away with a certification upon successful completion of the course. The courses all have a common goal: to help students earn qualifications to start a new job or advance in their current career.

“Industry credentials show that a person has achieved competency in a professional area that has value in performing a job,? said Jerry Franklin, DCC’s Director of Manufacturing and Technical Services. “Many companies hire and promote based, in part, on the credentials a person has earned, and that is why we are offering these valuable credentials to our students.?
