DANVILLE, VA, June 30, 2015 - Approximately 70 members, advisors, and alumni of Phi Theta Kappa from Virginia and West Virginia recently attended the VA/WVA Regional Summer Leadership Conference at Danville Community College, hosted by the DCC’s Upsilon Phi Chapter. Advisors for the chapter, Vickie Holland Taylor, Sherry Gott, and Chris Pantazis provided leadership training, while DCC President Dr. Bruce Scism presented a workshop on writing music and performed several selections. As a regional community service projects, conference attendees were asked to donate non-perishable items or money for God’s Storehouse. The group, pictured, collected 220 pounds and donated $100. Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for the two-year college students. During 2015, the Upsilon Phi Chapter is celebrating forty-years of academic excellence and service.
