DANVILLE, VA, January 21, 2015 – Applications are being accepted now for Danville Community College’s Manufacturing Technician Career Studies Certificate program. Classes will begin soon. The 12-week, 28-credit program offers hands-on training in the skills today’s advanced manufacturing employers seek. The program was established in 2007 as a direct result of requests from local industries to train the workforce for manufacturing jobs that require advanced technical and operator skills, as well as knowledge of advanced manufacturing practices. Courses in industrial safety, fluid mechanics, DC and AC circuits, electrical power and control systems, and team concepts and problem solving all are part of the program.

All classes are held at DCC’s Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training (RCATT). For more information or to apply for the program, call the Workforce Services Office at 434.797.6437, or click here.
