DANVILLE, VA, July 22, 2014 – Danville Community College is offering a Summer Bridge program help students brush up on their math skills. These math skills are required for high demand careers and classes, such as STEM-H, (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Health Sciences), as well as college transfer programs. The STEM-H program areas include Advanced Manufacturing, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Automotive Analysis and Repair, Electrical/Electronics, Engineering, Health Sciences (Nursing, Dental Hygiene and Radiologic Technology) and Precision Machining Technology.

The Summer Bridge includes two week, two-hour, non-credit classes offered within a flexible schedule that includes day, afternoon and evening sessions. They are offered in two-hour blocks during a two-week period. The remaining available dates are: August 4-14, and August 11 -21.

Program requirements include:
• Must be a DCC student who has already taken the VPT (Virginia Placement Test) for math and need developmental courses.
• Must not have taken a developmental math class.
• Must not take as a refresher or review course.
