MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN GROUP COMPLETES PROGRAM 

 

DCC Manufacturing Technician Graduates

A group of students recently completed Danville Community College’s Manufacturing Technician Career Studies Certificate Program. Students received their certificates in a completion ceremony at the Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training (RCATT) and are pictured here at the conclusion of the ceremony. DANVILLE, VA December 12, 2014 - Participants in Danville Community College’s Manufacturing Technician Career Studies Certificate Program recently completed their curriculum and are starting new jobs as a result of their training. Certificates were awarded to the students in a ceremony held recently at the Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training. The students in the rigorous program earned 28 college credits in a 12-week period of time.

The recent graduates comprise the 21st cohort of the Manufacturing Technician Certification Program at DCC. The program began in 2007 as a direct result of requests from local industries to train the local workforce for manufacturing jobs requiring advanced technical and operator skills, as well as knowledge of advanced manufacturing practices.

The next cohort of the Manufacturing Technician Certification Program begins in January. All classes are held at the Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training (RCATT).
