Adam's Letter Flier

"Adam's Letter" will be presented by the Danville Community College Theatre Workshop class on December 5 at 11 a.m. in Oliver Hall.

DANVILLE, VA, November 18, 2013 – Danville Community College’s Theatre Workshop class will present the John Cosper play, Adam’s Letter, on Thursday, December 5 at 11:00 a.m., in Oliver Hall auditorium in the Temple Building. Throughout the semester, the class has been studying the production elements of theatre through a total immersion in the process. Students selected the play from several suggestions, and the production is directed by class members. All rehearsals were held during class time.

Adam’s Letter takes place after a social pariah commits suicide leaving behind a message for his former tormentors, teachers, friends and family. The lives of nine classmates are followed as they react to Adam’s death and manifesto which forces each of them to take a look at their interactions and roles in the lives of their peers. With bullying in the forefront of social issues today, this presentation delivers a message to the tormented and their bullies, as well as examines the impact suicide has on those left behind.

The presentation is offered free of charge, but canned food or wrapped staples can be brought for God’s Storehouse. For more information, please contact the Arts and Sciences Division at 434.797.8462 or click here.
