DANVILLE, VA, July 30, 2013 – - Danville Community College will host a Veterans Open House on Wednesday, August 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center. There will be representatives from all the DCC departments on campus to help veterans who would like to go to school, to register and sign up for classes.

If you are an older veteran who needs retraining….there is money available in the form of the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program. The DCC Veterans Specialist will be available to help you sign up for VRAP. But you need to hurry….there will be no VRAP applications taken after October 1, 2013. So time is of the essence.

Also, if you are a veteran just exiting the service please attend this event to receive assistance in getting started using your educational benefits, including applying for these benefits.

There will be representatives from the Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation Division to help disabled veterans get training. Plus, there will be representatives from the Veteran’s Administration (VA) regular education division to answer questions about current educational claims.

Representatives from the VA Clinic will be at the open house to assist veterans in their health care needs. The Virginia Department of Veteran Services will assist in completing claim forms.

Veterans come out on August 7 and let DCC assist you in getting started on your next career. For more information, contact DCC’s Veteran’s Specialist Randy Kelley at 434.797.8489, or
