DCC SETS TRANSFER DAY FOR OCTOBER 4

DANVILLE, VA, September 25, 2012 – All the information you ever wanted to know about college admissions and transfer will be the focus of Danville Community College’s Transfer Day on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the DCC Student Center.

The event features representatives from approximately 20 colleges and organizations who will discuss the admissions process for students interested in transferring to four-year colleges and universities. Topics covered include current articulation agreements between DCC and other colleges, available transfer options, admissions processes and deadlines, and individual discussions with transfer representatives.

“This will be an opportunity for students to meet with four-year college representatives, as well as learn more about DCC’s transfer programs, guaranteed admissions and articulation agreements,? says Traci Daniel, DCC Transition Counselor.

Daniel notes that DCC has specific agreements with more than 20 colleges, while the Virginia Community College System has guaranteed agreements with about 30 schools. In addition, DCC awards a number of scholarships to students each year who continue their education to earn a baccalaureate degree.

“There are many options available for students,? Daniel adds. “I encourage all students to attend Transfer Day and find out more information.?
