DANVILLE, VA, December 16, 2011 – Danville Community College will offer a two-credit course this spring semester called “Lifeguard Training?. The class, PED 245, provides entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical responders arrive.



Taught by Louise Early, adjunct professor, the class is offered on campus on Monday and Thursday evenings, from 7:30 – 9:15 p.m., while the water portion of the class will be held at the Danville YMCA pool. The course is available to DCC students as well as the public. However, participants must be at least 15 years of age.
