DANVILLE, VA, March 15, 2010 - Have you been carrying around an idea for a terrific new product? It’s time to take that idea from the mind to the market on March 27 when DCC partners with local inventor Paul Davis to mentor attendees who want to become successful entrepreneurs. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, at DCC’s Regional Center for Advanced Technology & Training (RCATT) at 121 Slayton Avenue in Danville.

Appropriately titled “From Mind to Market,? the four-hour seminar will teach ordinary people such essentials as how to define their market, techniques for raising capital, how to develop a prototype, trademark options, identifying distribution channels, packaging ideas, bootstrapping techniques, and more.

A retail store owner in South Boston for more than 20 years, Davis is more recently known as the inventor of FrigeMates, a refrigerator door surface organizer that is taking the market of home products by storm.

Having recently presented his entrepreneur workshop on a national level at the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Association, Davis said that the current downturn in our economy makes this the perfect time for people to think outside the box.

“With jobs being cut back, people are looking for options beyond the traditional nine-to-five employment working for someone else,? Davis explained. “I’m hoping that in sharing with people what works and what to avoid, I can make it a little easier for them to pursue such options.?

In addition to learning how to market their ideas, attendees will also receive a copy of “The Independent Inventor’s Handbook,? lunch, various handouts/entrepreneur materials, and one of Davis’s FrigeMate calendar units.

Cost of the workshop is $99. The price for students is $45 with student identification. To reserve a seat, please call 434.797.6437 or click here.
