DANVILLE, VA, April 8, 2010 – Now is the time to “Explore Danville Community College? at the annual Spring Open House on Wednesday, April 14. Most of the activities will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day, but two workshops focusing on transfer and health care opportunities will be held in the evening. Prospective students will have an opportunity to tour the DCC campus, view program presentations, receive financial aid information and meet with college faculty.

During the day, many of the classrooms and labs will be open for visitors and tours of the campus will be offered every 30 minutes. In addition, student clubs and organizations will have display information and LAN Gaming Parties will be held in the Castle, and Temple and Taylor Buildings. A COMPASS Placement Assessment Preparation Workshop will be held from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. in Wyatt Building, Room 201 to assist students in preparing for placement to a program of study.

Programs on display include Accounting, Administration of Justice, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Auto Body Mechanics, Automotive Analysis & Repair, Building Trades, Business, College Transfer, Drafting and Design, Electronics/Robotics, Engineering, Information Systems Technology, Marketing, Precision Machining, Residential Design and Estimation, Welding and Wood Science.

Two evening workshops will be held from 6- 8 p.m. with a focus on “Explore Liberal Arts and Transfer “ options, and “Explore Nursing and Dental Hygiene “options. The Liberal Arts workshop will be held in Temple Building, Room 205, while the Nursing and Dental Hygiene Workshop will be held in Foundation Hall, Room 109.
