DANVILLE, VA, April 16, 2010 - Danville Community College’s students and employees, with help from the community, raised more than $2,424 for Haitian relief efforts. The College’s efforts were led by the Justice Club, under the direction of Associate Professor John Wilt, and the Student Government Association, under the direction of Counselors JoLane Dunlap and Jim Lindley, The funds are the result of several activities, including sponsoring Wilt in a run from Danville to Lynchburg; and an evening of song and music entitled, “A Musical Tribute to Support our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti?. The donations were given to God’s Pit Crew, which will use the money according to specific needs in Haiti, such as clothing and nonperishable goods.
