DANVILLE, VA, May 8, 2009 - Danville Community College student Mary K. Barbour, center, is congratulated by Dr. Chris Ezell, Vice President for Academic and Student Services, left, and DCC President Dr. Carlyle Ramsey, after being named the recipient of the 2009 Student Success Essay Contest. The contest was open to all students who took the course, Student Success Skills (SDV 100) in Fall 2008 or Spring 2009. Participants had to write an essay on the topic, “How Do You Define Success?” Barbour, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), has returned to the College to pursue studies in the Registered Nursing (RN) program. As the contest winner, she received a certificate and a cash award of $150.
