Danville Community College employees were honored for their service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. DANVILLE, VA, May 8, 2009 – Faculty, staff and administrators at Danville Community College were honored recently for their service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The awards ranged from 40 years to five years of service. The program marked the 29th year the DCC Board has recognized college employees. Awards were presented by DCC President Dr. Carlyle Ramsey, Vice President of Academic and Student Services Dr. Chris Ezell and Interim Vice President for Workforce Services Jeff Arnold.

Juanita Williams, Administrative and Office Specialist III, Division of Arts and Sciences, was honored for 40 years of service. M. Wayne Martin, Associate Professor of Business Management; Helen Meadors, Assistant Professor of English; and Sandy Saunders, Administrative and Office Specialist II, Counseling Office, all were recognized for 35 years of service. Connie Wann, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic and Student Services, was honored for 30 years of service.

Others recognized included: George Turnbull, 25 years; Joan Tarpley-Robinson, 20 years; Jeff Arnold, Kevin Davis, Melissa Jones-Cross and E. Carol Thomas, all 15 years; and Elizabeth Astin, Dewitt Drinkard, Kathy Evans, Tammy Jackson, Bridgett Poole, Teresa Sawyers, Lynn Turner, Kristin VonKarowsky-Nelson, and Ruth Whitt, all five years of service.
