The 2009 Dental Hygiene program graduates are shown left to right: Heather Moorefield Womble, Melissa V. Clay, Emily Pool Barksdale, Kellie F. Wilkins, Beth A. Holder, Sally Reagan Adkins, Deana L. Price, Lindsay C. McCall and Mary Beth Morris. The Dental Hygiene program is offered in cooperation with Danville and Virginia Western Community Colleges. Classes are held on the DCC campus. All of the graduates have passed their national board exams.

DANVILLE, VA, May 16, 2009 – Graduates of the Dental Hygiene Program, offered in cooperation with Virginia Western Community College and Danville Community College, recently received their Associate of Applied Science Degrees. The students were honored at a ceremony held recently at DCC. Dr. Robert Carlish, an area periodontist, was the guest speaker. DCC President Dr. Carlyle Ramsey, Dr. Wade Davenport, Dean of the Division of Arts and Science, and Martha Roberson, Dental Hygiene Program Head at VWCC also provided remarks. All of the graduates have successfully passed their national board exams.

Individual awards presented included: the Colgate Star Award, presented to Sally Reagan Adkins; Alice Williams Award, Lindsay C. McCall; Virginia Dental Hygiene Association (VDHA) Award, Deana L. Price; and the Golden Scaler Award, Emily Pool Barksdale.
