Then, be sure to attend an information session on Wednesday, August 12, at 5:30 p.m., at DCC’s Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training (RCATT), located at 121 Slayton Avenue, Danville, VA.

The program is a joint effort of the National Emergency Medical Services, the Virginia EMS, and DCC. It is designed to produce competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technicians-Intermediates who can serve the community with advanced life support care via the EMS infrastructure. Graduates will be eligible for the National Registry testing and certification in Virginia.

Employment is projected to grow much faster than average as paid emergency medical technicians positions grow throughout the country. Opportunities for EMT-I’s may be available with ambulance, fire and rescue services, hospitals, governments, sales, and humanitarian relief organizations.

The information session will include a discussion of the requirements of the program, courses offered and a question and answer period with the instructors.
