I.              Catalog Description:  A two semester algebra-based class teaches fundamental principles of classical and modern physics. Designed primarily for science and engineering majors. Topics include mechanics, wave phenomena, heat & thermodynamics, electricity & magnetism, optics, and selected topics in modern physics.


II.            Relationship of the Course to Curricula Objectives in which course is taught:  This is a transfer level physics course that helps develop fundamental understanding of the scientific principles and methods and their applications.

Students will be evaluated based upon their performance in the classroom discussions, homework, tests, quizzes and other assignments as deemed necessary by the faculty.

Students will the evaluated for their ability to apply the fundamental concepts during a number of laboratory exercises throughout the semester.
