Course Number and Title:    EIP 211 Sign-to-Voice Transliterating II

I.              Catalog Description:  Further develops consecutive sign-to-voice transliterating skills through extensive practice. Continues to develop and refine fluency, accuracy and speed. Additional enhancement of appropriate English grammar skills and appropriate vocal intonation. Prerequisite: EIP 211 or consent of instructor. These courses may not transfer to any other VCCS institutions in ASL or INT programs.  Lecture 1 hour per week.

This is the fifth required upper level course of the EIP curriculum followed by several required sequential courses.

Intermediate signing skills or above

A.               demonstrate the ability to “voice” non-signed segments consecutively, using appropriate English grammar and vocal intonation, with 80% accuracy

B.               demonstrate the ability to “voice” signed segments consecutively, using appropriate English grammar and vocal intonation, with 80% accuracy
